Gaiter Sale (ongoing)- Emily spoke about the ongoing neck gaiter sales. If you would like to purchase one use the link below. Once paid for gaiters, can be picked up at the GW Office.
THANK YOU!!!- Thank you to Katherine Boehm and Lori Pappas for their dedication to the Grant Wood PTA over the years!!
PTA Sign-Up & Dues- Sign up and pay dues (PayPal) on the website.
Website- In an effort to move things online, Cari Henson has created an amazing website. Please check it out!
PPE Donations- If you would like to donate masks you can do so by sending them to school with your child. If you would like to make a monetary donation the PTA will use this to purchase PPE throughout the school year.
Wipes Drive- Please consider picking up disinfecting wipe to send to school.
Scrip- Natalie Wenzel- If you are interested in fundraising for the PTA general fund while doing your normal shopping, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to be sent an email invitation to the Scrip program. If you have questions, please email Natalie as well.
Room Parents- Ashley Lindstrom- Mr. Cain will be asking at the district level about the need for room parents.
Fun Run- Kimberly Hass, Emily Bucy- Emily spoke about the Fall Fun Run. This will be a week long event that will encourage families to get out and walk, run, skip, etc. There will be a $10 donation and families will be encouraged to send in pictures of their families to be posted on the Grant Wood website, Facebook page, etc. Participating students will receive a medal (or something similar). Be on the look out for a flyer regarding this event.
Fall Book Fair- Jessica Body- Plans are in the works to make the book fair virtual this fall.
Restaurant Nights- Katie Yohe- Katie is looking into drive through options for restaurant nights this year. She suggested Happy Joes, McDonald’s, and Portillos. Mr. CAin suggested Raising Canes.
Supply Closet- Lori Pappas- Some items that we are looking to be donated are: small boxes of crayons, pencils, dry erase markers, and pencil boxes. When asked about hand sanitizer Mr. Cain stated they do have enough, but if some of the half gallon jugs were donated that would be helpful. If you would like to donate any of the above items, please send them to school.
Conference Crunch- Jen Pietcher- We are unsure at this time how this will look this year. We will have to play it by ear.
Yearbooks- Carrie Fuhr- Yearbooks from last school year will be delivered on Thursday!! There are extras available for purchase.
Stone Fundraiser- Cari Henson- Large stones are needed for seating in the outdoor learning space. We would like to use this as a fundraiser. Stones can be engraved with a family name, quote, etc. Pricing for these is pending, but they will be at a high price point. More information to come.
Principal’s Report - Principal John Cain
Mr. Cain spoke about the trellises in the outdoor learning space. These were purchased by a previous PTA member while at the old school. They were installed in the outdoor learning space, but they need vines to be planted. There are about eight needed.
Mr. Cain noted that kids have been doing an excellent job wearing their masks. He also feels drop off and pick ups have been going well.
Mr. Cain spoke about Canvas and asked for parents’ continued patience as everyone continues to learn about the platform. Parent trainings will continue and if you need to sign up for a training you can contact Angie in the front office.
